Mommy Makeover

A mommy makeover is a combined breast and tummy and possible hip rejuvenation normally done after having a family. Often this is a tummy tuck or liposuction of the hips and abdomen combined with a breast lift or augmentation to repair sagging and shrinkage after children. It restores shape, firmness and confidence. It repairs the damage time and childbirth have created. A great reward for a mother. Normally this is a single outpatient morning surgery. Combined procedures like this are surprisingly affordable. Please read the notes on the separate procedures and call us for a free morning consultation with Dr Smith

Is a mommy makeover right for you? After reviewing your medical history, Dr. Smith may recommend a mommy makeover if you are in good health and seek breast and body contouring to correct:

  • Loose abdominal skin
  • Sagging or deflated breasts
  • Stretched or overly enlarged breasts
  • Enlarged areolas or nipples
  • Stubborn fat deposits
  • Stretch marks

Mommy makeover surgery is appropriate for moms of all ages, but you should ideally be done having children if you decide to pursue a mommy makeover, as pregnancy typically negates surgical results. You must also be done breastfeeding and at a stable weight to be considered a candidate for mommy makeover surgery.

What to expect during mommy makeover surgery

On the day of surgery, Dr. Smith will use a marker to outline where your incisions will be located, place you under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation, then perform the procedures you need to achieve your cosmetic goals. This may include a combination of the following:

Depending on the number of procedures performed during your mommy makeover, you may be able to have them all done the same day, or you may need to schedule a series of procedures to be performed weeks or months apart.

Mommy makeover recovery

The more extensive the breast and body contouring involved in your mommy makeover, the more downtime you will experience after mommy makeover. Most patients need some help around the house for about a week after surgery, and full recovery takes several weeks. As with most breast and body contouring procedures, it usually takes about six months to a year to see your final mommy makeover results.
